Introduction to Software Defined Radio Workshop
This workshop will introduce you to the wonderful world of Software Defined Radio where all the magic happens on your computer so the same hardware can be used to listen to radio stations, receive aircraft location data, scan the electromagnetic spectrum etc. We will start with a clean operating system on a live USB device, install all the required software on it and work through some examples. There will be some theory about radio frequency but most will be hands on with decoding ADS-B signals and preparing our own signal processing applications with GNU Radio. Workshop is limited to 5 attendees and following materials will be provided:- USB RTL-SDR dongle - ADS-B antenna - 16 GB USB flash drive with operating system and study materialsAttendees are required to bring their own laptops and headphones.
