More and more people carry around those little pocket computers with phone functionality advertised as smartphones. There are a bunch of applications for those phones which are interesting for foreigners staying in Japan. Unfortunately, the application stores are crowded with junk applications and it is difficult and time consuming to find a set of good applications.
